The pioneering photofacial treatment uses intense pulsed light (IPL) technology to regenerate collagen. This boost in collagen production can help to even the skin tone, rejuvenate skin and target concerns such as hyperpigmentation, sun damage and rosacea. It can also help to treat facial thread veins.*
By delivering precise pulses of electric light and energy, laser photofacial technology filters light from different parts of the spectrum to target specific skin concerns. Each band of the spectrum has a wavelength that is ideal for different problems such as dark spots or thread veins. When light pulses are emitted onto dark spots for example, the heat dissolves the cells that create the pigment.*
This advanced and multi-pronged approach combined with Dr McManners’ experience and expertise makes the IPL laser photofacial a standout treatment option for many of our patients. Treatment can be carefully tailored to individual needs addressing many types of skin concerns from a sagging jawline to décolleté pigmentation.*
Reduces hyperpigmentation, dark spots and melasma*

Precise pulses of electric light and energy target specific skin concerns through the most appropriate light wavelength. The heat created also triggers collagen production for smoother, firmer skin.* The intense pulsed light is delivered through a specialised handpiece to the treatment area.
This varies from one person to the next and also depends on the skin concerns targeted. We will discuss this in detail during your consultation before developing a bespoke treatment plan. Most patients need up to 3 to 5 treatments with 2 to 4 weeks in-between each treatment.*
Skin may appear flushed and pink immediately after the treatment – almost like mild sunburn. This should subside within 24 hours.* Use a sunscreen of SPF25 to 50 following the procedure and avoid prolonged sun exposure.
Facial collagen re-modelling takes time but the results generated are longer term. Sunspots/sun damage; the sunspots will darken after the treatment and be naturally shed from the skin within 1 to 2 weeks. Rosacea; Skin tone will be normal, with less pronounced redness within a week of treatment. Spider/thread veins; Vessels may disappear after treatment or they may appear darker and then fully or partially fade within 10 to 14 days. TYPICALLY, SEVERAL TEATMENTS MAY BE NESCESSARY TO ACHIEVE COMPLETE CLEARANCE OF SUNSPOTS, ROSACEA AND THREAD AND SPIDER VEINS.
Occasionally, small scabs or blisters may form after IPL laser photofacial treatment. It’s important not to pick at any scabs as this can cause pigmentation problems.
Individual results may vary.
“A few months ago, I felt that every time I looked in the mirror I saw a new dark spot. Having IPL laser photofacials has really reduced the spots and Dr McManners explained everything carefully which helped me to relax.”
